– WATCH VIDEO In a shocking incident, three youths were brutally thrashed by few locals in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday for hoisting the national flag of India in Srinagar. According to a report by Kashmir Vision, the three non-locals belonged to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). According to reports, the incident took place at the Clock Tower, usually called as Ghanta Ghar in Srinagar’s Lal Chowk area. The Police has, however, detained the men involved in the tiff. Media reports inform that while unfurling the national flag of India was opposed at many places across the state, flags of ISIS and Pakistan were openly flung.
According to details by eyewitnesses, people walking on the streets pounced on the three non-local men as they attempted to unfurl the flag in the area. A video that went viral on social media shows how the three men were brutally hit. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) deployed in the market immediately came to their rescue.
According to the report, eyewitnesses informed that pro-freedom slogans reverberated in the area and police took the youth in custody. The youths have been detained at Kothibagh police station.
