There is enhanced concern in the international community over terrorism that emanates from Pakistan, external affairs minster Sushma Swaraj told Lok Sabha on Wednesday and added India’s efforts to consistently highlight cross-border terrorism is paying the dividends.
“Countries have called upon Pakistan to not allow it’s territory to be used for terrorism in any manner,” the minister said in reply to a starred question.
She said as a result of efforts by India , the United States have proscribed many “terrorist outfits that find shelter in Pakistan and target India”.
The minister said that India’s efforts to bring about a comprehensive convention on international terrorism is gaining wider support.
India has been maintaining that cross border terrorism aided and abetted by Pakistan is the biggest threat to regional peace and prosperity.
